BMI is a flawed measure of health.
Multiple studies have shown a higher BMI is not uniformly associated with higher mortality.
Weight bias is historically tied to racial oppression.
Weight bias has impacted access to eating disorder treatment.
Through curricular reform, research, and advocacy efforts, we hope to continue dismantling the weight bias in medicine.
